OVERVIEW
Substance abuse prevention is founded on proven theories and frameworks to inform its strategies.
This training will explore the foundational concepts of substance abuse prevention.
 
OBJECTIVES
Define prevention
Define behavioral health
Explain the Continuum of Care
Describe Risk and Protective Factor Theory
Identify the 6 CSAP Prevention Strategies
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Prevention professionals who are new to prevention, professionals in complimentary fields such as education, public health, and the justice system, and community members who would like to learn more about substance abuse prevention.
If you have taken Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST), then you do not need to attend Prevention 101.
